Many clients like following a theme when linking their garden to their house. This town garden illustrates taking advantage of the slope towards the house.
At the end of the patio, metre broad borders are set with just two colour combinations of herbaceous plants in front of two main raised beds. They enable the centre steps to become a focal point rather than merely steps to walk to the elevated level.
The surrounding gardens were hidden from view by lofty stone walls around the perimeter of the garden. The planting of mainly long grasses within the beds and along the borders of the elevated level the maintenance was kept to a minimum.
