This delightful new-build “L” shaped garden of some 350 SqM situated in Oxfordshire within a small village between Oxford and Newbury. Unfortunately, within 12 months new houses will be built behind the fence.
at the rear of the garden, so our brief was to design the garden to obscure any of the new houses that will be constructed and might overlook the garden.
The garden faced south so the sunny part of the garden was ideal for entertaining friends. At our first meeting with the client, we established some interesting ideas that would be of interest.
These included the possibility of having a water feature, so one hears the quiet trickling of water.
The gentleman liked the idea of growing vegetables, and the lady wanted to maximise the view of the garden into the evening by subtle lighting at strategic focal points. The garden lent itself to a high-class lawn to meet the gentleman’s want of mowing on Saturdays after a busy week in the city.
