Design Process
Friday, 20 August 2004

The first stage towards creating your ideal garden is meeting with you to discuss all your ideas, wants and needs you require from your garden. This initial visit is free to enable us to meet, show you our portfolio and discuss all aspects of the forthcoming project. Getting to know a client is crucial because only then can we design something that will be appropriate to your needs. The design process starts with a simple questionnaire to formulate your thoughts and objectives for your new garden. All the information is strictly confidential and is only used to assist us to design your garden.

Part of our job is to take the stress out of creating a new garden which should be an exciting and pleasurable experience for the client. From our discussion, a visit to the site, and the completion of the Design Questionnaire we will have all the information upon which to base the design and start the second phase in the creation of your new garden.

The second phase is to survey the garden which naturally includes taking all the measurements, including any trees and structures that you wish to retain etc, the levels that will come into play and all the other environmental issues that are needed before actual design work can begin.

Once the survey is completed and the completed design Questionnaire we can start the actual design process. Our designs are initially sketched by hand, and then transposed into major computer aided design software that enables us to present your future garden from different views round the garden in realistic graphical images. In this way you can view how your garden will look before a spade is put to the soil.
